CONAHS Faculty Convene for Canvas LMS Orientation During General Assembly
Faculty members of the College of Nursing and Allied Health Sciences (CONAHS) participated in an orientation on the updated Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) during the College’s General Faculty Assembly held on March 12, 2026, at the Nursing Skills Laboratory, N2004. The session was conducted by Mr. John Carlo Boleyley, Education Technology Specialist, as part of the University’s continuing initiatives to strengthen technology-enhanced teaching and learning.
The orientation introduced faculty members to the University’s new Canvas LMS course format, which aims to promote consistency, improve course organization, and provide a more seamless learning experience for students. The session served as a venue for faculty members to gain a shared understanding of the expectations and standards for developing and maintaining their Canvas course cards.
During the activity, participants were familiarized with the structure of the new course template and were guided on organizing learning resources and instructional materials in a manner that supports effective course delivery. The session also highlighted the role of Canvas in promoting academic continuity and ensuring that students have reliable access to course information and learning materials throughout the academic term.
By bringing together all CONAHS faculty members during the General Assembly, the College reinforced its commitment to fostering a unified and student-centered approach to digital learning. The activity likewise provided an opportunity for faculty members to discuss concerns, share insights, and prepare for the consistent implementation of the new Canvas LMS standards across the College.
This initiative aligns with United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by promoting quality, inclusive, and technology-enhanced learning experiences. It also supports SDG 9: Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure through the adoption and effective utilization of digital learning technologies in higher education.
