The Institute of Teaching and Learning (ITL) conducted a faculty development session on Digital Tools and Resources for Teaching and Tracking Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs) on September 17, 2026, at G311 and G312, University of the Cordilleras.
The session was attended predominantly by new faculty members for the 1st Term of Academic Year 2026–2027, providing them with practical guidance on the digital platforms and resources available to support teaching, assessment, and outcomes-based education.
During the session, the ITL team introduced participants to various digital tools and resources that can enhance classroom instruction and academic workflow. The discussion highlighted how technology can be integrated into course preparation, delivery, assessment, student engagement, and the management of learning resources.
A key component of the session was the discussion on the tracking and monitoring of Course Learning Outcomes (CLOs). Faculty members were oriented on the importance of aligning course activities and assessments with intended learning outcomes and using appropriate digital systems to support the documentation and monitoring of CLO attainment.
The session also featured practical demonstrations of digital platforms, including Turnitin, where participants were shown how technology can be used to support assessment and academic integrity processes. Through these demonstrations, faculty members were able to see how digital tools can become part of an integrated teaching and assessment workflow.
Beyond the presentations, the session provided an opportunity for new faculty members to become familiar with the university’s expectations for technology-supported teaching and outcomes-based education. The discussions also encouraged participants to consider how digital resources can be applied meaningfully within their respective courses and disciplines.
The activity reflects the ITL’s continuing efforts to support faculty members through capacity-building initiatives that strengthen digital teaching practices and outcomes-based education implementation. By equipping new faculty with relevant tools, systems, and practices, the institute contributes to a more consistent and purposeful use of educational technology in support of student learning.
The activity supports UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by promoting inclusive and effective teaching practices, faculty capability development, and the use of educational technologies to support learning outcomes.
